Kaman Walnut

Identified with the Kaman district of Kırşehir, thanks to the low relative humidity of the region, cool summer temperatures and the superior genetic features of this species; it has a high internal quality, white, hand-breakable shell structure and delicious.  Since 1990, “Kaman Walnut, Culture and Art Festival” has been organized in the region.  

 

Cemele Pepper

Cemele Pepper, which is a kind of sweet bell pepper, is grown in Çayağzı (Cemele) Village of Kırşehir. Since it has a thin skin and dark color and and it is hot, makes Cemele Pepper different from other peppers. When it is grown outside the Cemele region,it doesn't not have the same taste and features. This pepper is dried on ropes in summer, and the color of the pepper turns red when dried. Cemele Pepper is mostly consumed in winter and is in high demand from expats in the province.  

 

Onyx Stone

It is a semi-precious stone type also known as venous agate. Onyx Stone, a cryptocrystalline type of quartz, has many layers of different colors. With its limited production, it is usually used in souvenir decorative objects or interior designs. Onyx Stone is a souvenir product identified with Kırşehir and is historically known to have an object made of Onyx Stone in the home or workplace of almost every people of Kırşehir.  

 

Kırşehir Çullama

Kırşehir Çullama is prepared with flour, chicken, chicken broth and butter. It is famous with having a delicious dish made from very few ingredients in the region. Çullama has found a place in the poem titled 'Longing for Homeland' by one of the important Turkish Folk Music artists of Kırşehir, Şemsi Yastıman, as one of the items he expressed his longing for Kırşehir.  

 

Kırşehir Höşmerim Dessert

Kırşehir Höşmerim Dessert is a traditional dessert that has been passed down from generation to generation and has a long history. It is made with flour, milk, eggs, butter and sugar. Höşmerim is served by sprinkling walnuts on it. It is known that Höşmerim Dessert, which is one of the important cultural heritages of the region, is prepared at home and brought especially to the newly delivered mothers by the neighbours and relatives so that she can gather her strength back in a short time.
